United In The Journey
Testimonies

Item 1 of 4
October 16th, 2020, was my 50th birthday and life was good as I was in the midst of completing my doctorate degree. November came along, and I started having pains in my abdominal area. I started seeking help from various physicians only to be diagnosed in December 2020 with a rare form of uterine cancer with no cure. As a result, I had to have an emergency surgery and a full hysterectomy to remove a tumor that was the size of two baby heads. Shortly thereafter, in January, I started a six-month aggressive chemo treatment, only to be told it was unsuccessful.
Consequently, I reached out to my friend Brenda Davis who is a member of Bridgeway Community Church. Immediately she contacted the prayer warriors Grace and Anne Avery. Grace called and prayed with me constantly, encouraged me, and made me feel a part of the Bridgeway family. She then reached out to Anne Avery as another source of support for me. Anne has been incredible throughout the two months she has been supporting me. She is always in constant communication, sends gifts and cards from the Hope ministry, and always reassures me I am not alone and that God is walking with me on this journey. Lastly, I will never forget the kindness and support they have shown me through this journey.

God’s Love Through Hope Ministry
Hope Ministry has been a blessing! I was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer over a year ago. I have been wrapped in love, prayer, kind, uplifting words, life-affirming cards, gifts, and encouragement through this Ministry.
Thank you for giving me HOPE!

The Hope Ministry has always been there for me with their kindness, prayers, and support. This ministry came into my life just before I received my fourth breast cancer diagnosis in July 2021. Ever since then, they have enormously blessed me with their loving care and support. I recall on my birthday a small group showed up at my door bearing a cake, lovely flowers, and balloons, all singing happy birthday to me! What a surprise. I could believe it!
That surprise was just one of many acts of love, kindness, and fellowship I have received from this ministry. Every phone call, gift basket, or card I have received illustrates God’s promises and love through their kindness.
God’s word directs the Hope Ministry, and I feel it is truly anointed with their prayers and huge hearts, and most of all, giving people hope.
I am forever grateful,
-WB
